What is From Katherine Anne all about?

I'm here to help you build a pin collection that’ll make your heart melt.

Fantasy faves are my main motivation: there’s nothing I love more than immortalising the fables and movie moments that hit you right in the feels. Nostalgia, romances, and even bromances: I’m covering all bases to help you curate a pin collection which unapologetically celebrates the stories you care about the most.

How did this all begin?

I know what you're thinking: this is all just... so bizarre. 

I agree. It is. My life is pretty weird and wonderful.

The backstory is even more random!

From Katherine Anne began in 2017, from the living room of my mum's house. After finding myself unemployed during my second year of drama school, I decided that the answers to all my problems lay in my mothers sewing machine.

Yes, that's right. Sewing machine.

As someone who can't sew, I'm not sure why I thought this was a good idea. 2017 Kate has a lot to answer for...

But there I was, sewing book sleeves like my life depended on it (which, in some ways, it did!) and selling them on Etsy. And miraculously, people actually bought them for a time. Until I got fed up of balancing small business life with my degree, and returned to part time weekend work.

Fast forward two years, and it's 2019. I've graduated drama school, torn my hip, moved home, had surgery, and realised the dance career I worked incredibly hard for was never going to happen because my joints had given up the ghost. 

Oh, and as you well know, we're careering fast towards a global pandemic. No big deal.

So the obvious answer amongst all this chaos was to revive my business! Which I did during the first lockdown, and I've never looked back.

How From Katherine Anne has changed my life

The shop, and subsequently the FKA community which has grown from it, has changed my life in so many ways. 

You (yes, you, lovely person, who are now automatically part of this community just for being here on this About page!) have helped me:

• Help me fund returning to University during the pandemic to complete my Masters in English Literature after my career as a performer went out the window.
• Provided the security I needed to quit a full-time admin job that made me miserable so I could take a year to travel round the world and experience things I never imagined.
• Created a community of not just customers, but friends, who have been there on my good days and bad. A kind word on Instagram, a supportive comment on TikTok. All of it means more than you know.

I truly consider myself the luckiest girl on the planet. And it's all down to you.
